Purple Sage is a Scottish botanical lifestyle brand based in the Scottish Borders, bringing together gardening and botanical skincare. We grow botanicals in our own cottage garden, explore their stories and uses, and bring that connection from garden to product through handcrafted plant-based skincare, botanical experiences, workshops and Know Grow Make™.

At its heart, Purple Sage is about reconnecting with the plants around us and discovering how they can become part of everyday life.

For us, gardening and skincare are naturally connected. Many of the plants growing around us can inspire the ingredients, stories and ideas behind botanical skincare.

At Purple Sage, we explore that journey from growing and learning about a plant to discovering how it can be used in simple skincare and everyday botanical living. It’s about understanding our ingredients, appreciating where they come from and reconnecting with the plants on our doorstep.

Yes. We grow many of our own botanicals in our cottage garden in the Scottish Borders, using regenerative gardening principles and working with nature wherever we can.

Not every ingredient can be grown here, so where we need to source ingredients elsewhere, we choose them carefully. Growing our own plants gives us a much closer connection to what we make and is an important part of the Purple Sage story — from garden to skincare.

Know Grow Make™ is a new botanical experience currently being developed by Purple Sage, designed to bring gardening and botanical skincare together in a completely different way.

Each experience will focus on one plant, encouraging you to discover its story, grow it for yourself and explore simple ways to use it in plant-based skincare.

We handcraft a range of plant-based botanical skincare in small batches in the Scottish Borders, including hand serums, lip balms, body balms and other carefully considered skincare products.
